Steps to Update Your Mobile Device Operating System

Update iPhone or iPad (iOS)

1. Connect your device to Wi-Fi.
2. Plug the device into a charger or ensure the battery is above 50%.
3. Open Settings.
4. Tap General.
5. Tap Software Update.
6. Your device will check for available updates.
7. If an update is available: Tap Install Now or allow the device to install overnight.

Enable Automatic Updates on iPhone/iPad

1. Go to Settings → General → Software Update
2. Tap Automatic Updates
3. Turn on:
   • Download iOS Updates
   • Install iOS Updates

Update Android Device

Note: Steps may vary slightly depending on the manufacturer (Samsung, Google Pixel, Motorola, etc.).

1. Connect your device to Wi-Fi.
2. Ensure the battery is above 50% or connect to a charger.
3. Open Settings.
4. Scroll down and tap:
   • System → System Update, or
   • Software Update
5. Tap Check for Updates.
6. If an update is available:
   • Tap Download
   • Tap Install
7. The device may restart several times during installation.

Enable Automatic Updates on Android

1. Open Settings
2. Tap Software Update or System
3. Enable:
   • Automatic System Updates or System update preferences (if available)

Recommended Before Updating

• Back up important data and photos.
• Ensure you have enough storage space available.
• Keep the device connected to power during the update.
• Do not power off the device while updating.
