Technician Quick Reference Guide: Work Order Status (Ecards)
These required steps create timestamps in Vision and send Ecard status updates to the Dispatcher’s DBoard.
This keeps dispatch informed of your progress and reduces the need for phone calls, while also providing accurate timestamps for billing.
Work Order Status Steps
1. Acknowledge
Press Acknowledge after reviewing your assigned work orders.
Your Dispatcher Ecard turns Purple.
This confirms to dispatch that you have read and received your calls.
2. Travel
Press Travel when you begin driving to the job site.
Your Dispatcher Ecard turns Orange.
This indicates to dispatch that you are en route.
3. Start
Press Start when you arrive at the job site.
Your Dispatcher’s DBoard turns Green.
This confirms that work has begun.
4. Pause
Press Pause when:
Taking lunch
Being rerouted
Temporarily stopping work
The DBoard status turns Red.
After pausing:
Add an Office Note explaining why the work order was paused so the dispatcher understands the situation.
Navigation Option
Select the NAVIGATE button to open Google Maps with traffic for directions to the job site.
⚠ Important:
Always use Acknowledge, Travel, Start, and Pause correctly. These status updates keep dispatch informed and create the required timestamps for billing and job tracking.
